Africa Equity Group Featured in ImpactAlpha on Inclusive Growth in Zambia

Africa Equity Group is pleased to be featured in ImpactAlpha’s June 25, 2026 report, “Zambia centers small businesses in its bid for a more inclusive economy,” by Lucy Ngige.

The article examines how public institutions, private investors, angel networks and diaspora-led financing are working to improve access to capital for Zambia’s small and growing businesses.

In the feature, AEG’s Fabien Anthony discusses the opportunity to move capital from fragmented channels into structured, underwritten financing for African commercial opportunities.

He captures the trust-based foundation of this work in one line:

“Trust built with diasporans becomes the infrastructure in our model.”

ImpactAlpha also highlights the Borderless Africa Fund and its work connecting diaspora capital with revenue-based, contract-based and supply-chain financing for enterprises in Zambia, Kenya and Rwanda.

This approach addresses a persistent challenge for African businesses: securing appropriately structured working capital to fulfill contracts, strengthen supply chains and grow their operations.

It also creates a pathway for diaspora capital to participate more directly in African enterprise development.

The coverage reflects a conviction at the heart of Africa Equity Group: Africa’s sustainable development and economic prosperity will be driven by African enterprises and powered by equity—access to capital, technology, talent and trusted networks.

We thank Lucy Ngige and ImpactAlpha for highlighting the people and institutions building a more inclusive African economy.
